Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today lay the foundation stone for the rejuvenation of 553 railway stations in 27 states and union territories of the country under the Amrit Bharat Scheme. It has been estimated to cost around Rs 19 thousand crores.
Preparation to change the color of the station
The Ministry of Railways has launched a policy called 'Amrit Bharat Station' Scheme. Under which a total of 1309 railway stations across the country will be redeveloped in a modern manner. The objective of this scheme is to provide world class facilities to the passengers during their rail journey and make their experience better than before. In this scheme, a master plan will be prepared keeping in mind the long-term needs of each station and the needs of the passengers there. After which the railway stations will be rejuvenated.
Meanwhile, there is a question in the minds of people that what kind of facilities will be provided to the passengers under this scheme. A press release has been issued by the government to answer all the questions of the people. In which information is given about the changes and development in the station.
Passengers will get excellent facilities
The existing structure of the station, especially the entrances, will be made more attractive than before.
Old buildings will be shifted to reserve space for passenger convenience and future development.
Where possible at stations, old structures will be improved instead of new structures.
The stations will have waiting rooms as well as canteens and other food and beverage facilities.
Two stalls of 'One Station One Product' will be reserved at each station.
Convenient and comfortable lounges will be created at the station for business meetings.
Hoardings and sign boards with simple language will be installed at various places at the station. So that the passenger can get information as per his convenience.
The paths of all the stations will be made wider than before.
Better arrangements for lifts, automatic routes, parking and lighting will be made at the stations.
The station will be decorated with posters, paintings, sculptures, artefacts and plants.
Photographs and artworks showcasing local art will be created at the station.
High level platforms and ballasted tracks will be installed on platform lines and train maintenance facilities.
It will have self-cleaning drains, covered with beautifully designed lids, which will be drainage channels.
The cables at the station will be covered with beautiful designs.
Free Wi-Fi facility for passengers and space in the tower will be reserved for the future 5G network.
The station will use more durable, dust-proof and low-maintenance materials.
Comfortable and durable furniture will be installed in waiting halls, platforms, retiring rooms and offices.
The public announcement system will be improved.
Escalators will be installed at some stations.
Special facilities will be provided for persons with disabilities as per Railway Board guidelines.
Adequate number of toilets will be constructed with separate provision for women and persons with disabilities.
Objective of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme
Preparation of Master Plan for Railway Stations and implementation of various facilities including minimum essential facilities in various phases.
Keeping the future in mind, roof plazas and city centers will be constructed at the stations.
New facilities will be prioritized based on stakeholder needs and station usage studies.
Existing facilities will be enhanced and new facilities will be provided to make waiting at the station a better experience for passengers.
