New Delhi: The Sachkhand Express train going from Nanded Sahib to Amritsar caught fire near Harsana Kalan station in Haryana on Monday night. Passengers panicked as smoke spread in the coach and they stopped the train by pulling the chain. As soon as the speed slowed down, passengers jumped off the train. While jumping off the train, they came under the grip of Hapa Superfast Express passing by, due to which two passengers died on the spot. One passenger has been identified as a resident of Kaithal. The other passenger could not be identified. On receiving the information, the GRP team from Sonipat reached the spot, but by then the train had left. This train has no stoppage in Sonipat.
It is being told that crop residues and bushes were set on fire in the fields along the railway track between Rathdhana and Harsana Kalan station, because it is the time of paddy harvesting and farmers are burning bushes on the sides. And are removing the edges of the fields. The smoke reached the passing train through the wind. Due to which the passengers felt that a coach has caught fire. Meanwhile, people shouted that the train has caught fire. This caused a stampede among the passengers and they pulled the chain. The departure time of Sachkhand Express from Harsana Kalan is 1:46 pm, but on Monday this train was running late by about seven hours. The train left Delhi at 7:39 pm and reached Harsana Kalan at around 9:00 pm. Remember that about five days ago a rumor spread that Ranchi-Sasaram Intercity Express had caught fire in Latehar, Jharkhand and four people died due to passengers jumping.
