Kolkata, 13 December (Hindu). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) raided the house of Trinamool leader Manav Parua in Kanthi, East Medinipur on Friday. This raid was conducted as part of the investigation into the bomb blast case that took place in Bhupatinagar in 2022. The raid comes at a time when the Kanthi Co-operative Bank elections are to be held on Sunday, and Manav Parua is the Trinamool candidate in it.
Trinamool alleges that NIA is being used to put pressure on the party before the elections. However, BJP rejected this and said that this action is being taken on the instructions of Calcutta High Court and it has nothing to do with the elections.

What did NIA find?
On Friday, a seven-eight member team of NIA along with Kanthi police raided the house of Manav Parua. The team seized many documents and a laptop from there. Trinamool and BJP’s reaction
Trinamool’s Kanthi organizational district president Piyush Panda said that this action just before the elections is a conspiracy to weaken Trinamool. But this will not break our courage.
At the same time, BJP leader Divyendu Adhikari said that the High Court had directed the NIA to investigate. But the investigation is going on at a slow pace. People associated with this incident are still roaming freely. We demand that the investigation should be completed soon and the accused should be arrested.
