While talking to news agency ANI, former Union Minister MJ Akbar spoke openly on this lunar mission of Pakistan. He sarcastically said that Pakistan’s first Moon mission, which they are proudly calling ‘Jinnah-1’, could actually prove to be a bad news for the world as Jinnah’s ideological thinking has always been one of division. It is noteworthy that on one hand, Pakistan celebrates the anniversary of its independence on 14 August, on the other hand, there has always been sharp criticism in India regarding the role of Mohammad Ali Jinnah in the partition of India and the creation of Pakistan.
What is Pakistan’s ‘Jinnah-1’ moon mission?
Pakistan, which is facing serious economic crises and poverty, is now trying to move forward in the field of space by riding on the shoulders of China. Pakistan is planning to send its first rover ‘Jinnah-1’ into space along with China’s eighth lunar mission. This ambitious mission is planned to be launched in the year 2029. According to the plan, this ‘Jinnah-1’ rover, prepared with the cooperation of China, will land on the South Pole of the Moon and do research and work.
‘Blood and water cannot flow together’, blunt reply to Shehbaz Sharif
MJ Akbar also gave a befitting reply to the statements and statements made by Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif regarding the Indus Water Treaty on the eve of Independence Day. Shahbaz Sharif had warned India that every drop of water in Pakistan is a ‘red line’ and if New Delhi does not come on the right track on this treaty, it will be given a direct reply.
Countering this, MJ Akbar said in clear words that the Prime Minister of Pakistan is concerned about every drop of water of the Indus River, but he will have to account for every drop of blood of Indian citizens and soldiers shed due to sponsored terrorism against India. Akbar bluntly said that India’s stand is very clear and until Pakistan stops supporting terrorism from its soil, blood and water cannot flow together.

Let us tell you that after a horrific terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Government of India had adopted a tough stance. The very next day, i.e. on 23 April 2025, in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS), India took a historic decision to indefinitely postpone the Indus Water Treaty. It was made clear by the Government of India that the circumstances and environment in which this treaty was signed have now completely changed and terrorism and talks cannot go together.
