New Delhi, 23 October (Hindustan Reporter). Former India wicketkeeper batsman Parthiv Patel is set to join the coaching staff of Gujarat Titans.
According to ESPNcricinfo, Parthiv will play multiple roles, including the role of assistant coach as well as one of the talent scouts in the Ashish Nehra-led support staff.
This is the first coaching role in the IPL for Parthiv, who retired in 2020. Prior to this he was the talent scout for Mumbai Indians for three seasons until 2023, and was also the batting coach for MI Emirates in 2023, the inaugural season of the ILT20. Parthiv, 39, played for six IPL franchises between 2008 and 2019. He also won the title with Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and twice with Mumbai in 2015 and 2017. In 139 matches, Parthiv scored 2848 runs at a strike rate of over 120, primarily as an opening batsman.
