Indications of this were found in the all-party meeting called by the government on Sunday, on the eve of the session, where both the party and the opposition have revealed their respective strategies. Senior leaders of 40 political parties participated in this meeting which lasted for about 3 hours under the chairmanship of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.

The session will continue till August 13, Kiren Rijiju appeals for ‘discussion’

In the all-party meeting, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju officially informed that this monsoon session of Parliament will start from July 20. 13 August 2026 Will last till. This A total of 19 meetings during the 25-day session Will be organized. The government has currently released the list of 8 major bills for the session through bulletin.

Although the much-discussed ‘Delimitation Bill’ and ‘Women’s Reservation Bill’ are not included in this preliminary list, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister clarified that if the government considers bringing these two or any other new bills during the session, then under the rules, it will be tabled only after full discussion with the opposition in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC). Rijiju strongly appealed to the opposition to allow Parliament to function smoothly and there should be only ‘discussion, not ruckus’ in the House.

DMK and NCP change tone on women’s reservation and delimitation, ruling party hopeful

The biggest political U-turn in this monsoon session is being seen in the stance of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). This is the same DMK that last time party chief and then Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Under Stalin’s leadership, even copies of the Delimitation Bill were burnt.

• Concerns of Southern States: DMK MP Tiruchi Siva said his party is in support of the Women’s Reservation Bill based on the existing strength of the current Lok Sabha, provided it does not cause injustice to the representation of southern states. If delimitation has a negative impact on seats in South India, then it should be postponed for the next 25 years.

• Softness of opposition: NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) leader Supriya Sule has also indicated that if the government includes in writing in the bill a provision to increase the total seats in the House to 50 percent, then the India Bloc can discuss it positively. This stance of the opposition parties has given hope to the government to implement these historic reforms.

The opposition has prepared a common and aggressive blueprint to corner the government inside the House. Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, while addressing the media after the all-party meeting, made sharp attacks on the government. The opposition will seek direct answers from the Prime Minister and ministers on the following burning issues in this session:

1. NEET paper leak and student agitation: The opposition will demand fixing the moral responsibility of the government on the NEET Paper Leak issue related to the future of lakhs of students of the country.

2. Ayodhya Ram temple donation theft: The opposition has termed the case of alleged theft of offerings and donations in Ayodhya as extremely shameful and has demanded the government to issue a white paper on this issue with sensitivity.

3. Sonam Wangchuk’s detention: There is also a possibility of huge uproar in the House on the issue of forced removal of Ladakh’s environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk from Jantar Mantar.

4. other issue: Apart from this, the opposition will open a front against the government on the current situation of violence in Manipur, MSP demand of farmers, ethanol policy and alleged attempts to break the opposition parties through central agencies.
