Indian fans suffered a shock in women's archery at the Paris Paralympic Games. Indian archer Sheetal Devi lost to Chile's Mariana Zuniga by just one point. Sheetal's exit has left Indian fans heartbroken.

However, in another match, Indian archer Sarita made it to the quarter-finals but her journey ended with a defeat in the quarter-finals. Sheetal Devi was defeated by Chile's Mariana. Chile's Mariana Zuniga scored 138 while Sheetal's score was 137. However, Sheetal won the first set 29-28 but lost the second set 27-16. In the third set, the score of Sheetal and Zuniga was equal at 27-27. After this, 17-year-old Sheetal equaled the fourth set also at 29-29 but was not successful in saving the fifth set.

Sarita lost to Aknur Cure of Turkey in the quarter-finals of the women's archery compound. Sarita was defeated by the Turkish archer with a score of 145-140. Disappointment for India in Mixed 10m Air Rifle Indian shooter Avani Lekhara failed to qualify for the final of the Mixed 10m Air Rifle Prone event of the Paralympic Games on Sunday and finished 11th while Siddharth Babu finished 28th. Despite a good start, Avani could not repeat her historic gold performance in the 10m Air Rifle Standing SH1. The gold medal of the competition went to Uzbekistan's Yorbinbek Odilov who threw 50.32 meters. Turkey's Mohammad Khalvandi won the silver medal with 49.97 meters. The bronze medal of the competition went to Brazil's Cicero Valdiran Lins Nobre who threw 49.46 meters.
