Paris Olympic Selection Trials: 50m. Aishwarya Pratap on top in 3 position rifle event

Bhopal, 18 May (HS). The selection trial for the Paris Olympics 2024 was held on Saturday at the State Shooting Academy in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. It has 50 m. In the 3 position event, two players of Madhya Pradesh State Academy performed brilliantly and achieved success in securing a place in the top three positions. Among these, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar secured the top position while Ashi Chowksey stood third.

Public Relations Officer Vikas Kharadkar said that the Summer Olympic Games are to be held in Paris between July 26 and August 11, 2024. The selection trials of Olympic Games Paris were organized from 11 to 18 May at Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Bhopal. In this, 02 players of Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar and Aashi Choukse participated. In this selection trial 50 m. In the 3 position event, Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar achieved the top position by hitting brilliant shots in four stages. At the same time, academy player Aashi Choukse won the women's category 50 m. Finished third in the 3 position rifle event.

Aishwarya's Achievements

Aishwarya Pratap Singh is a resident of Tomar village Ratanpur district Khargone. His father is a farmer. Aishwarya took admission in Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Bhopal in the year 2016. He participated in rifle shooting in Tokyo Olympics- 2020. He is currently India's top player. He has won 20 medals including 10 gold, 04 silver and 06 bronze medals at the international level and a total of 30 medals including 17 gold, 7 silver and 06 bronze medals at the national level.

Aashi's sports achievements

Aashi Choukse is a resident of Barkheda Pathani, Bhopal. Father works in railways. In the year 2017, he took day-boarding scheme admission in Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy, Bhopal. In the Asian Games held in Hongzhou, China in the year 2023, he had won a total of 03 medals including 02 silver and 01 bronze. He won the gold medal in the mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup, Azerbaijan. Earned 02 bronze medals in World Cup Germany, 01 bronze medal in World Cup Korea. Aashi is only at third place in the Olympic trials. There is a possibility of being in the Olympic squad as an additional player. The official announcement of the Olympic squad is yet to be made.

Aishwarya and Aashi are training at Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy under the guidance of chief trainer Jaideep Karmakar, assistant trainers Vaibhav Sharma and Aparajita Singh.
