Paralympics: Cash awards have been announced for Indian para athletes who won medals at the Paris Paralympics. Union Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced this on Tuesday. In the recently concluded games, India performed the best in its history and won a total of 29 medals including seven gold. It has been decided to give Rs 75 lakh to the players who won gold medals in Paris, Rs 50 lakh to the silver medalist and Rs 30 lakh to the bronze medalist. Apart from this, Rs 22.5 lakh will be given to the medal winners in the mixed team.

The winners were welcomed as soon as they reached home
With its stellar performance, India has also crossed the 50 medal mark in the history of the Paralympic Games. On returning home on Tuesday, the Paralympic medal winners were warmly welcomed by hundreds of fans with flowers, garlands and sweets. India ended its historic campaign at the Paris Paralympics with 29 medals including seven gold, nine silver and 13 bronze.

We will get full support to win more medals in Los Angeles Paralympics'
Mandaviya also promised to provide full support and facilities to para athletes to win more medals in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. He said the country is moving ahead in Paralympics and para sports. From four medals in 2016, India won 19 in Tokyo and 29 in Paris and finished 18th. We will provide all the facilities to all our para athletes so that we can win more medals and gold medals in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.

India broke Tokyo's record
The Paris Paralympics proved to be the most successful Paralympics for India. Tokyo Paralympics 2020 has been India's most successful Paralympics so far. India sent 54 athletes and managed to win 19 medals. Which includes five gold, eight silver and six bronze medals. India broke the Tokyo Paralympics record by winning its 20th medal. Apart from this, India also broke Tokyo's record of five gold by winning seven gold.
