Ramgarh, 26 September (HS). The newly appointed para legal volunteers in the district will go to the panchayats and make the villagers aware of the law. Today it is very important for the villagers to know the law. These things were said by Alok Kumar Dubey, District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman of District Legal Services Authority, during the training program organized under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority on Thursday.
The Principal District and Sessions Judge inaugurated the training program of the newly appointed para legal volunteers running from 26 to 30 September. On this occasion, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Anil Kumar, Chairman of Permanent Lok Adalat Pradeep Kumar Chaurasia, Members of Permanent Lok Adalat Devnath Baitha and Arun Kumar Gupta were present.
During the training, the volunteers were told that they will be appointed in various panchayats. The work of para legal volunteers is to spread awareness about law in the society. He told that PLVs will be taught the basics of various laws which will be applicable at the ground level in the context of their daily life. Para legal volunteers will be told about the minute nuances used in the functioning of the judicial system, the working of the police, the activities of the social welfare department, the work of the women and child welfare department.
During this it was told that para legal volunteers will also be informed about domestic violence and protection related to juvenile justice act. They will not only spread awareness about the law but they will also be trained to give advice and settle simple disputes between two parties in an amicable manner so that the affected person can be saved from the trouble of going to the legal service authority. If the dispute is not resolved by mutual agreement then the disputes can be settled in Lok Adalat with the help of DLSA.
