Panic due to gas leakage in Kadipur industrial area, factory area evacuated

Gurugram, August 1 (HS). There was panic among the people after the news of gas leak in a factory located in Kadipur Industrial Area. Many people of the area complained of difficulty in breathing and burning sensation in the eyes. After this, information was given on Dial 112. Police reached the spot and evacuated the area around the factory. NDRF and Fire Brigade brought the situation under control.

On Thursday, on receiving information about gas leak in a factory in Kadipur Industrial Area, police and administrative officials reached the spot and NDRF team was called for rescue. NDRF team has taken gas samples and sent them to the lab for testing. Civil Defence officer Mohit Kumar said that information about gas leak was received at around 11 am. The person who gave the information suspected ammonia gas. On which the administration immediately became alert. Along with the police, Disaster Management was also informed about this.

According to the information, the local people had felt the gas leak at 4 am. Due to the gas leak, people started having irritation in their eyes and difficulty in breathing, then they called 112 and informed. The NDRF team took the reading at 1 o'clock in the initial investigation. Then when the reading was taken at 2 o'clock, a lot of difference was seen between the two times.

According to the official, the factory was empty and was being used for dumping. Hydro sulphide and chlorine have been found in the air around the factory. He said that the situation is under control at present and there has been no damage due to the gas. The factory and the surrounding area have been evacuated for safety reasons.
