Panic due to bomb threat in 3 international flights from Mumbai

Mumbai – There was a panic among the security agencies after receiving bomb threats against three international flights taking off from Mumbai. An Air India flight bound for New York was diverted to New Delhi. Meanwhile, the lives of tourists were in danger.

However, after a thorough investigation by security agencies, no bomb or any other suspicious object was found in any of the planes, police officials said.

Apart from the Air India flight, two IndiGo planes going to Muscat (Oman) and Jeddar (Saudi Arabia) have also received bomb threats.

There were 239 passengers and 19 crew members on board the Air India plane. About 260 passengers boarded the two Indigo flights.

The IndiGo flight to Muscat took off at around 9.15 am after getting security clearance after a delay of about seven hours. While Jeddah Jatu flight took off 11 hours late from its scheduled time of 2.05 pm.

Although the Air India flight has been rescheduled, it was scheduled to depart from Delhi for New York on Tuesday morning.

An Air India statement said that on October 14, flight AI 119 from Mumbai to JFK (New York) was diverted to Delhi after receiving a security alert.

The aircraft was thoroughly inspected at Indira Gandhi International Airport. All safety protocols were strictly followed for the safety of passengers and crew. A senior Delhi Police official said that nothing suspicious was found during the checking.

The bomb threat was received through a post on microblogging platform X. That handle is being investigated.

A Mumbai Police official said that Indigo's Mumbai-Muscat and Mumbai-Jeddah flights have also received bomb threats. No suspicious objects were found during the search of the aircraft and passenger luggage.
