Vadodara: The parapet of Pandya railway over bridge, built 55 years ago by Vadodara Corporation, has been dilapidated for a long time. Now that it has come under the purview of the railway system, the pillars and columns of the bridge have developed cracks and water is dripping from them. On receiving information about this, Congress councilor Amiben Rawat and local residents reached the spot.
Both of them inspected the dilapidated parts of the bridge's columns and pillars and demanded that a report on the bridge's structural stability be submitted. They also demanded that the dilapidated bridge be repaired immediately by stopping vehicular traffic.
The important thing is that the pillars and columns of the bridge are dilapidated and broken and the railway system has only done a whitewash. The railway department has applied chemicals to fill the cracks in the pillars and columns. Along with this, nails are hammered into the pillars to support the rods. The rods of the pillars and columns have also been damaged…
In this matter, Nagar Palika's City Engineer Alpesh Majmundar said that the corporation had written to the railways in January itself to get the bridge repaired. Since the part of the bridge comes under the railway department, the repair work is being done. The corporation continuously instructs to work in coordination with the railway department.
The corporation wrote a letter to the railway in January informing them about the repair and has given up. However, the bridge has not been repaired properly till now… The railway system is also not showing its laziness, there is a need for the railway and corporation system to coordinate with each other and get the bridge repaired as soon as possible, before any major accident happens.
