Lucknow, 14 November (HS). On the birth anniversary of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a symposium was organized at the State Congress Headquarters. Addressing the seminar, former MLA and senior Congress leader Shyam Kishore Shukla said that Pandit Nehru did not allow independent India to become a part of any group during the Cold War period, when the world was divided into two groups after the First and Second World Wars. Rather gave birth to the principle of non-alignment. Most of the countries of the world included themselves in it and accepted the global leadership of Pandit Nehru.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President Dinesh Singh, while discussing the personality and work of Pandit Nehru, said that by abandoning the inherited wealth, Pandit Nehru sacrificed everything for the freedom of the country. He remained in the British jail for almost 10 years to free Mother India from slavery. By leading many movements, he made his unique contribution in realizing the dream of independent India.

Before starting the seminar, the Congressmen present including Vice President of Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, in-charge Administration Dinesh Singh, former MLA Shyam Kishore Shukla, Chief Organizer of Seva Dal Congress Dr. Pramod Kumar Pandey paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Pandit Nehru.

In the symposium organized at the state Congress headquarters, many leaders and Congressmen presented their views while paying tribute to Nehruji.
