He said that at that time not even a needle was manufactured in independent India. There was no plan for development. In such a time, Pandit Nehru did the work of developing the country and keeping the democracy alive. Gradually, Nehru laid the foundation of development in which opportunities were given to every section of society. In the underdeveloped India of that time, Nehru prepared a blueprint for development in the country through five-year plans. Big schools, colleges and hospitals were built in the country and factories were established.
