Patna, September 10 (HS). Union Minister Lallan Singh, while addressing the inaugural session of the three-day national workshop for elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions in Patna on Tuesday, said that Panchayati Raj Institutions can play an important role in making India a developed nation by 2047.
Union Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh said that it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream to make India a developed nation by 2047 and Panchayati Raj institutions can play an important role in this. Lallan Singh said that PRIs play a very important role in achieving sustainable development goals. He said that every Panchayat representative should select one village of the Panchayat for the Gobar Gas project. Inspired by the cooperative society of Gujarat, Lallan Singh announced to start the Gobar Gas project as a pilot project in his village.
Lallan Singh said that along with energy, cooking gas will also be available from the cow dung gas plant. Vermi compost will also be made from this. He said that in Bihar, 50 percent reservation was given to women in Panchayat in 2006 and in municipal bodies in 2007. Today women are empowered. Lallan Singh said that Panchayat representatives should keep two plastic boxes for the cleanliness of villages. This will not only clean the villages but also make fertilizer from garbage. He said that before 2005, the budget of Bihar was 25 thousand crores. Today it is more than 02 lakh 62 thousand crores. He asked the Chief Secretary to implement the cooperative model of Anand (Gujarat) in Bihar.
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that the government formed under the leadership of Nitish Kumar in 2005 strengthened the Panchayat. We have a smart village concept. Villages in Bihar have developed a lot. Panchayat government buildings are being built.
It is noteworthy that the three-day workshop that started today is being organized as part of achieving the sustainable goal of social justice and social security through capacity building and enhancement of Panchayati Raj institutions. During the three-day workshop, there will be a lot of deliberation and discussion among stakeholders on the empowerment of local bodies and institutions.
Union Panchayati Raj Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh inaugurated the workshop. Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Professor SP Singh Baghel, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha and Panchayati Raj Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta and representatives of various departments attended the inaugural ceremony.
