Mandsaur, July 30 (HS). The Lokayukta Ujjain team arrested Dhoonakhedi Gram Panchayat Secretary Phoolchand Jajavariya of Bhanpura in the district red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 3000 on Tuesday afternoon at around 1 pm. The accused secretary was accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 3000 from the complainant in exchange for making a lease in the village.
Lokayukta Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Talan said that Shivraj Singh, son of Vijay Singh, resident of Bhanpura's Dhaba, had applied to the Panchayat for the lease of the enclosure in Gram Panchayat Dhoona Khedi. Gram Panchayat Secretary Phoolchand Jajawaria had demanded a bribe of 3 thousand from the complainant in exchange for making the lease. Complainant Shivraj Singh had complained about this to Ujjain Lokayukta SP Anil Vishwakarma on 25 July. After the complaint, a trap plan was made. On Wednesday, a team of 11 members along with Ujjain Lokayukta ASP Sunil Talan reached Bhanpura. The accused secretary called the complainant to Royal Dhaba on Neemuch Road in Bhanpura with money. As soon as the complainant gave a bribe of 3 thousand to the Panchayat Secretary, the Lokayukta team caught him.
