Who cannot link PAN card with Aadhar card?
Let us tell you that some people do not need to link PAN card with Aadhar card. These include people above 80 years of age. Moreover, as per the Income Tax Act, non-residents or those who do not have Indian citizenship are also not required to link PAN card.
What will happen if PAN card is not linked?
Those PAN card holders who have not yet linked their PAN card, should do this as soon as possible. If Aadhaar card is not linked to PAN card then PAN card will automatically get deactivated. This means that it will not be used as a document. Apart from this, many financial transactions have also been banned.
If PAN is not linked to Aadhaar then ITR cannot be filed. Apart from this, bank related transactions are also closed. Even the benefits of many government schemes are not available.
To activate PAN card, you have to visit the Income Tax Department website and link PAN to Aadhaar by paying a late fee of Rs 1,000.
