
Yesterday (Tuesday), six coaches of a goods train derailed at Palghar railway station in Maharashtra, due to which trains coming from Gujarat to Mumbai were affected. Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sumit Thakur said here that the incident took place around 5.10 pm and there were no casualties in this (Palghar train accident). The train was going to Panvel and was carrying bundles of iron wires (iron coils). Thakur said that efforts are being made to restore traffic on the affected line.
According to Western Railways, Mumbai Dahanu Road-Panvel-Vasai Road, Vasai Road-Panvel-Vasai Road and Vasai Road-Panvel-Dahanu Road trains have been completely cancelled. Western Railways has released the list of cancelled trains from its official X handle.

According to Western Railways, the up line of Mumbai-Surat section has been affected due to derailment of 6 wagons of a goods train and a BVG at point number 117/118 in Palghar yard at around 5.10 pm on Wednesday evening. Iron wire bundles (iron coils) were loaded in the goods train, when the coaches derailed, the bundles of wires also fell on the track. There were no casualties in the incident but many trains of Western Railway were affected.
Trains running between Mumbai and Gujarat have been affected a lot. According to the railways, repair work on this line is going on. At the same time, efforts are being made to restore traffic on the affected line.
