News India Live, Digital Desk: In childhood, all of us must have traveled by train at some time or the other. That window seat, the noise and the hustle and bustle of the station, the train has a distinct memory of its own. But have you ever thought about a train where there is no noise on the tracks, but melodious music is heard? Where the coaches have not iron seats, but velvet sofas and carvings on the walls?

Yes, there are some trains in the world which are called “Palace on Wheels” (palace-like train). Traveling in these trains is not just to go from one place to another, but to create the most wonderful memory of your entire life. Let us take a tour of the world’s most luxurious trains today and know what is so special about them.

Maharaja Express (Pride of India):
When it comes to luxury and India’s name does not come up, it cannot happen. Maharaja Express has received the award for the world’s best luxury train several times. As soon as you step into it, you will feel as if you are a guest of a king. Food in silver utensils and the very beautiful ‘Ranga Mahal’ restaurant is its soul. It shows you a view of cities like Delhi, Jaipur, Varanasi and Agra which is never possible by flight.

Venice Simplon-Orient-Express (Pride of Europe):
If you like the romance and royal style of old films, then Orient Express is for you. This train running from London to Venice contains history in itself. In this you get antique boxes from the 1920s which look absolutely original. Its dinner is so luxurious that people are invited here wearing proper suits and gowns.

Belmond Royal Scotsman (Beauty of Scotland):
This train takes you on a tour of the forests and mountains of Scotland that we see in the pictures. The number of passengers in it is very less (only around 36), so it feels exactly like a private journey. Sitting in the rearmost ‘Observation Car’ (a compartment with a window) and watching the natural views is a magical experience.

After all, what is so special about it?
Often people ask that when one can go by flight in 2 hours, why would anyone spend lakhs of rupees on these trains? The answer is ‘experience’. Here you get a private butler, who takes care of your smallest details. Your room (cabin) has comfortable beds and bathrooms like a luxurious hotel. This journey is not for running around, but to experience the world peacefully.

These trains prove that the journey can be more beautiful than the destination. Of course, their fare is much higher than what we and you think, but seeing them and knowing about them seems no less than a beautiful dream.
