Pakistani army has been deployed on the streets of Islamabad. Army has been deployed under Article 245 of the Constitution to maintain law and order in Islamabad from October 5 to 17. The SCO summit in Pakistan's capital Islamabad and another protest by former PM Imran Khan's party led to the deployment of the army.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization meeting is scheduled to be held between 15 and 16 October. In which many foreign guests will stay in the capital. On the other hand, supporters of former PM Imran Khan's party Tehreek-e-Insaf have announced to protest at D-Chowk in Islamabad. Imran Khan is protesting demanding his release.
Imran supporters are coming to Islamabad
Imran Khan's supporters are marching towards Islamabad demanding his release. PTI supporters led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced a protest at D Chowk in the capital. Police have made several arrangements to stop the supporters. Section 144 is imposed in the entire city and all entry points have been closed.
Demand to postpone the strike
The government has already asked Imran Khan to postpone the protest. PTI supporters say that only Imran Khan can stop them from going to Islamabad. On Friday, police arrested hundreds of PTI supporters from different cities of the country, who were coming to Islamabad to join the protest.
SCO meeting in Islamabad
This demonstration is taking place at a time when the SCO meeting is going to be held in Islamabad. In which delegations from SCO members India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan are going to come to Islamabad. Keeping in mind the security of VVIP movement, the Government of Pakistan has handed over the security of Islamabad to the Pakistani Army.
