Pakistan's big step for World Test Championship, PCB took a big decision

The Pakistan cricket team is going to host two Test matches against Bangladesh, three Test matches against England and two Test matches against West Indies. This three-Test series is part of the World Test Championship 2023-25. But now before this, the Pakistan Cricket Board has taken a big decision and appointed Tony Hemming as the Chief Curator for two years. His tenure will be two years. He will reach Lahore on Wednesday and take charge.

Tony Hemming has a long experience

Tony Hemming's first task will be to prepare the pitch for Pakistan's upcoming ICC World Test Championship matches. In these matches, Pakistan will face Bangladesh in August-September and England in October. Hemming will also oversee pitch preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan will host from February 19 to March 9, 2025. Hemming is a very experienced curator. He has a long experience of almost four decades. He has worked in many prestigious cricket grounds like Melbourne, Perth and Tasmania in Australia.

Has been the Chief Curator of ICC

Australian Tony Hemming has also worked in countries such as Bangladesh, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. He was the ICC's chief curator in Dubai from 2007 to 2017. During his tenure with the ICC, Hemming also oversaw the preparation of the pitch at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The Dubai International Cricket Stadium was also the home ground of the Pakistan cricket team from 2009 to 2019.

Pakistan team finished fifth in the World Test Championship

In the World Test Championship 2023-25, Pakistan team played five Test matches out of which they won two Tests and lost three Tests. Pakistan is at the fifth position in the ICC World Test Championship points table with 22 points. It has 36.66 PCT points.
