An air hostess of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suddenly went missing after landing at Canada airport. When officials opened his hotel room, they found him in his uniform, and thanks to the PIA. A written note was found. There was no air hostess there so investigation was initiated by the system.
According to reports, a similar incident was reported last month when an air hostess failed to report for the return flight after reaching Canada. At least seven PIAs died while on flight duty in Canada last year. Cabin crew members were missing.
The woman was in airlines for 15 years
According to media reports, Maryam Raza left for PIA from Islamabad on Monday. The flight arrived in Toronto on PK-782, but failed to report for duty on the return flight to Karachi, PK-784. Raza had joined Pakistan International Airlines 15 years ago and was assigned the task of flying from Islamabad to Toronto. The flight of crew members to Canada is said to have started in 2014 and 2015, when at least 16 air hostesses and crew members went missing upon arrival at Canadian airports in the same year.
Why do crew members go missing in Canada?
According to the airline spokesperson, this is the second case of a PIA air hostess going missing after landing in Canada this year. Officials say this trend is due to Canada's flexible laws granting asylum once they enter the country.
According to Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, if foreign nationals wish to enter and remain in Canada as a flight crew member, they are not required to obtain a temporary resident visa. Pakistani media, citing unnamed sources, reported that the airline has imposed strict rules for flight attendants traveling to Canada and European countries. These rules set an age limit of not more than 50 years for cabin crew members.
