After winning the three-match T20 series against Zimbabwe, Pakistan will play a 6-match white ball series against South Africa. Pakistan Cricket Board on Wednesday announced the Test, ODI and T-20 squad for the South Africa tour. A total of 8 matches will be played in the entire tour, which includes three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and two Test matches under the World Test Championship. Pakistan’s Test team for the tour will be captained by Shan Masood, while the ODI and T-20 teams will be captained by Mohammad Rizwan.
Babar Azam got the place
Star batsman Babar Azam is one of the key players of all three teams. Under Rizwan’s leadership, Pakistan had a disappointing performance in the T20I series against Australia and lost 0–3 to the hosts. However, the ongoing series win against Zimbabwe has lessened the pain of their defeat. The series against South Africa will be a different challenge for Pakistani players, because the host team has emerged as a strong T20 team.
Shaheen Afridi is not part of the test team
These teams of Pakistan have been selected keeping in mind the ICC Champions Trophy to be held next year. In which star fast bowler Shaheen Afridi has been kept out of the Test series to prepare for the mega event. Apart from this, the name of aggressive opening batsman Fakhar Zaman was not considered due to his fitness. Despite his recent good performance against England at home, Sajid Khan has not been included in Pakistan’s Test team. After seeing the pitches of South Africa, the selectors have decided to include fast bowler Mohammad Abbas in his place in the team.
