According to media reports, along with players like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf have also been included in the team. The selectors are hopeful that opening batsman Sam Ayub will be fit before the Champions Trophy. He suffered an ankle injury in the series against South Africa. He is currently in London for injury treatment.
Fakhar Zaman returns to the team
Fakhar Zaman has returned to the team. Recently, relations between the board and Fakhar Zaman were also not good. He played his last ODI match for Pakistan in November 2023. Since then he is out of the ODI team.
The middle order includes players like Tayyab Tahir, Irfan Khan Niazi, Usman Khan and Kamran Ghulam and Salman Ali Aga, who performed well in the South Africa series. Shadab Khan has not been included in the bowling. In their place, Abrar Ahmed and Sufiyan Muqeem have been included in the team.
