A new twist has come in the murder case of underworld don Aamir Sarfaraz Tamba in Pakistan. A senior Pakistani police officer has claimed that Sarfaraz is still alive and seriously injured. So the minister of Pakistan government has accused India.
Sarabjit Singh was murdered in 2013
It is noteworthy that Sarabjit Singh, an Indian resident who was lodged in a Pakistani jail, was murdered in 2013. Sarabjit was strangled to death with polythene by Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, close to Hajif Saeed, in Pakistan's Kot Lakhpat jail. On Sunday, Copper was shot dead by unknown assailants in Pakistan. Now a police officer from Pakistan's Punjab has claimed that Sarfaraz Tamba is alive.
Tamba was taken to hospital in critical condition
Tamba, a close aide of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, was attacked by motorcycle-borne assailants at his residence in Sanant Nagar. Tamba was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where he died. But Lahore Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Syed Ali Raza told Dawn newspaper that Tamba was still alive but seriously injured. Interestingly, the police officer did not say where if Tamba is alive then where he has been referred for treatment.
A police spokesman declined to comment.
Police officer Dawa spoke to Lahore Police spokesperson Farhan Shah about the SSP's statement on Monday, but he declined to comment citing the sensitivity of the matter.
The pattern of murder is the same: Home Minister
Amidst this entire incident, on Monday, Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed the suspicion of India's hand behind the murder of Sarfaz Tamba. Speaking to the media on Monday, he claimed that India was directly involved in some of the murders that took place in recent times. Police are investigating the matter and at this stage it is too early to say anything about India's involvement in the copper issue. However, they suspect Indian involvement due to similar killings in the past.
FIR has been registered against 2 unknown people
On Sunday afternoon, Tambe was shot dead by two unidentified assailants at his house in Sanant Nagar, an affluent area of Old Lahore. Pictures of Tamba's blood soaked body also went viral on social media. On the complaint of Junaid Sarfaraz, younger brother of Sarfaraz Tamba, the police have registered an FIR against two unknown attackers. According to the FIR, Junaid Sarfaraz told that he and his elder brother Amir Sarfaraz Tamba, who was around 40 years old. Sanant was present at his home in Nagar at the time of the incident.
Lahore court acquitted the killers
In the year 2013, Sarfaraz Tamba and his associate Mudassar had attacked convict Sarabjit in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail. Due to which he died. In 2018, Lahore Sessions Court acquitted Sarabjit's killers due to lack of evidence.

Sarabjit Singh was sentenced to death for his alleged involvement in the serial bomb blasts in Pakistan's Punjab province in 1990. Sarabjit Singh was a farmer living in Bhikhiwind village of Tarn Taran district on the India-Pakistan border. On August 30, 1990, he unknowingly reached Pakistani border. Where Pakistani Army arrested him. However, Sarabjit's family in India says he crossed the border unknowingly.
Sarabjit's sister fought a long battle
In the letter, Sarabjit declared himself innocent and wrote, 'I am a very poor farmer and I have been arrested on the basis of mistaken identity. His sister Dalbir Kaur fought a long battle for his release from Pakistan, but was unsuccessful.
