Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to launch a big campaign against the government in Pakistan. Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan's party along with an alliance of opposition forces today announced a nationwide agitation against alleged rigging and mandate manipulation in the elections held on February 8.
The Grand Alliance consists of 6 political parties. The meeting started late on Friday night and continued till Saturday. During the meeting, Tehreek-e-Tahfulla-in-Pakistan (TTAP) decided to join the movement to protect the Constitution of Pakistan. However, media reports said the opposition alliance's launch of the movement indicates that the dream of post-poll peace and political stability will remain elusive.

Let us tell you that Imran's PTI party has formed an alliance with those parties which had objected to the election results of February 8. Opposition parties include Balochistan National Party (BANP), Pashtunkha Milli Awami Party (PAKMP), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Muttahida Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MOM), etc.

The meeting, chaired by Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) president Sardar Akhtar Mengal, lasted for several hours. It was decided in the meeting that Pashtunkha Milli Awami Party (PAKMP) Chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai would lead the alliance. Apart from this, Sunni Ittehad Council Chairman Sahibzada Hameed Raza Khan, Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Chairman Raja Nasir Abbas and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Liqayat Baloch also attended the meeting.

Briefing the media after the meeting, PTI General Secretary Omar Ayub Khan said that the aim of the movement is to implement the rule of law in the country and the movement will be launched with a public rally in Pishin area of Balochistan from Saturday. He said, 'In view of the deteriorating situation in all areas, all political parties have voluntarily joined the opposition alliance.
Omar further said that this movement is being launched against the alleged rigging in the February 8 elections and manipulation of the mandate to form the government. Let us tell you that the Grand Alliance is refusing to accept the election results. Achakzai has said that the alliance is not against the army but against the political role given to it in the Constitution.
Public meetings will start from Saturday
Achakzai said, 'The Constitution is a social contract and we will start public meetings from Saturday to protect it. He also opposed extending the services of any civil or military officer.
