Pakistan News: Inflation bomb explodes again in Pakistan, prices of petrol and diesel increased

Inflation is skyrocketing in India's neighboring country Pakistan. Now the government there has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel, due to which the troubles of the Pakistani people have increased further. The Government of Pakistan has increased the price of petrol by Rs 4.53 per liter and the rate of High Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs 8.14 per liter. After this, petrol in Pakistan has come down to Rs 293.94 per liter which was Rs 289.41 per liter before this increase.

Diesel prices have increased so much

Similarly, if we look at the rate of high speed diesel, it has come down to Rs 289.41 per liter from Rs 282.24 per liter before the increase. However, the Government of Pakistan has changed the prices of petrol and diesel for the next 15 days i.e. 30th April, after which now the public will have to buy fuel at these rates for a few days.

Why did oil prices increase in neighboring countries?

According to the information, the Finance Ministry of the Government of Pakistan has also issued a notification in this regard and said that the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority has made this increase on the basis of changes in the price of oil in the international market.

Prices of other goods will also increase

As per the available details, most of the transportation in Pakistan runs on HSD i.e. High Speed Diesel and is in high demand. It is used as the main fuel to run heavy transport vehicles, trains as well as agricultural vehicles like tractors, buses, trucks etc. After this fuel becomes expensive, the cost of running threshers, tube wells etc. also increases, due to which the prices of vegetables and other food items increase in this country.

Heavy tax on petrol and diesel in Pakistan

Although Pakistan has zero general sales tax (GST) on all petroleum products, the government there imposes a petroleum development levy of Rs 60 per liter on petrol and diesel. Apart from this, the government imposes customs duty on both these fuels at the rate of Rs 19-20 per liter, due to which their prices increase significantly.
