Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has been in Adiala Jail for the last 14 months. Meanwhile, on 21 September, i.e. today, workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party are holding a grand rally in Lahore in support of Imran Khan's release from jail. PTI had earlier held a rally on 8 September. During which a clash broke out between the police and the workers.
The court gave permission to organize the rally
Maryam Nawaz is the leader of Pakistan Muslim League party in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province in Pakistan. The court has given permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party to hold a rally on Ring Road in Kahna, Lahore on Saturday.
PTI told Lahore High Court that the Pakistan government is not giving us permission to hold a rally and the police have detained our workers in the rally held on 8 September. Therefore, permission has been given to hold a rally in NOC. The time for the rally has been fixed from 3 pm to 6 pm. Also, the rally has been allowed with 43 conditions.
A huge crowd will attend the rally
Regarding this rally, Imran Khan said that the Lahore rally on September 21 is a do or die issue for PTI. The Constitution guarantees the right to hold a rally and if this right is denied, PTI supporters will go to jail. Then the jail will be filled with water. Imran Khan has asked people to come out of their homes and join the rally.
Application for extension of time of rally to be held in Lahore
After all these conditions came to light, Imran Khan's party has filed an application in the court to allow extension of the rally time. Due to this, talks are going on between the court and the party, but the time limit has not been decided yet.
