Pakistan: Four lakh beggars reached Karachi to take advantage of Eid, people worried

beggar in karachi pakistan : Eid is being celebrated with great pomp in Pakistan also. As huge crowds of people flock to the markets to shop, Karachi's city authorities face a different kind of problem. Thousands of beggars have settled in villages in the country's financial capital Karachi for the month of Ramadan and the festival of Eid. Because of this, a large number of beggars are seen outside the city's markets, main roads, traffic signals, shopping malls and religious places.

A Pakistani newspaper quoted Karachi's Additional Inspector General Imran Minhas as saying that about three to four lakh beggars have descended on Karachi city to collect money from people on the occasion of Eid festival. He says that beggars and criminals see Karachi as a big market. Beggars come to Karachi from Sindh Balochistan and other parts of the country. Their number increases especially during Ramzan.

Minhas further said that it is possible that criminals may also be trying to hide in the city in the guise of beggars. However, in the current situation it is difficult to find them and more CCTV cameras are required for this.

Karachi city is also troubled by crime. There were 6780 criminal incidents in Karachi during the month of Ramzan, which included 20 vehicle robberies and 130 theft incidents. Last year also there were thousands of public fights. More than 100 people were killed in various types of crimes. This type of pattern is being seen in the current year also.
