Narayanpur, May 27 (HS). Naxalites have threatened to kill Padma Shri Vaidyaraj Hemchandra Manjhi of Chhattisgarh accusing him of brokerage in Niko Mines. After this, Vaidyaraj Hemchandra Manjhi, feeling sad, said that it is not right to insult by throwing pamphlets and threatening again and again. It has been threatened in the red pamphlet that we have embezzled money. He said that we have not embezzled even a single penny, we are people who earn and live. Even now 20-22 people work for us.
He said that if the government does not do anything, then what will I do with the Padma Shri award, I will return it. I serve the people, I do not take anyone's money. When poor people come, I give them herbs. I will stop giving that too, people die for that. He said that the Naxalites would call me with the media by organizing a Jan Adalat and would question me face to face, and then they might even kill me. He said that get my house in Chhote Dungar built, provide security, I will go and live there. As per the information received, after the Naxalite threat, the Home Department has ordered to provide Y category security to Padma Shri Vaidyaraj Hemchandra Manjhi.
It is noteworthy that before this Naxalites have also killed Vaidyaraj Hemchandra Manjhi's nephew Komal Manjhi. Padmashree Manjhi has left the village and is living in the city for about 06 months due to the fear of Naxalites. In view of the threat to life from Naxalites, the police administration has provided a house to Vaidyaraj to live in Narayanpur district headquarters with security.
Hemchandra Manjhi, a resident of Narayanpur district, is famous as Vaidyaraj. He treats serious diseases like cancer using wild herbs in a traditional way. Manjhi spent his entire life searching for herbs and treating people with them. For almost five decades, he has cured thousands of people. Manjhi was awarded the Padma Shri award by President Draupadi Murmu on the occasion of Republic Day. Hemchandra Manjhi has been treating people since the time when health facilities had not reached that area. During that time, he started treating people due to his knowledge and spirit of service. Chief Minister Sai had said that his selfless service in the field of rural health care is inspiring and exemplary for all of us.
