Mirzapur, March 01 (Hindustan Reporter) Divisional Food Controller Prabhakant Dwivedi said that against the target of two lakh tonnes, 130376.53 tonnes of paddy was purchased at 91 purchasing centers in the district, which was 66.64 percent of the target. Out of 33635 registered farmers, 22436 reached the purchasing centers to sell paddy. Last year, 168136.83 tonnes of paddy was purchased from 30835 farmers.
As against Rs 29096.05 lakh, Rs 28857.69 lakh has been paid for the purchase of paddy. At present payment of Rs 99.18 lakh remains to be made. 53 mills were registered for CMR in Mirzapur. 130376.53 tonnes of paddy has been supplied to millers for threshing. At present 2908.17 tonnes of paddy is left at the centres. Whereas 90193.76 tonnes of CMR i.e. rice has been supplied by the miller.
In the district, 36261.68 tonnes of paddy was purchased at 23 centers of Food Department, 28831.21 tonnes at 22 centers of PCF, 41206.29 tonnes at 23 centers of PCU, 852.22 tonnes at one center of Mandi Committee and 1678.08 tonnes of paddy was purchased at two centers of Food Corporation of India. Is. UPSA District Manager Shiv Avtar Kushwaha said that 24455.21 tonnes of paddy has been purchased at 20 centres.
