Putin makes fun of PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a two-day visit to Russia as part of the BRICS summit. Under which today he reached Kazan city where the summit will be held on 23 October. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan. Both the Presidents took part in bilateral talks. Meanwhile, while referring to the historical relationship between India and Russia, Putin said something that made Prime Minister Modi laugh.

During bilateral talks, Prime Minister Modi spoke in Hindi and President Putin in Russian. Translators were present to translate the conversation between the two leaders into Russian and Hindi. During this, President Putin while addressing Prime Minister Modi said that the relations between India and Russia are so close that I think you can understand my words even without the help of a translator. Prime Minister Modi laughed out loud at this comment of Putin.

Putin said that the relations between Moscow and New Delhi are very special and are getting stronger with time. In response to which Prime Minister Modi said, this is my second visit to Russia in the last three months, which reflects the deep partnership and friendship between the two countries. In July this year, Prime Minister Modi also went to Russia. After this, President Putin warmly welcomed him in the Kremlin and himself drove him to his official residence.

India views Russia as a trusted friend, which has played an important role in its economic development and security. This bilateral meeting is taking place three months after Prime Minister Modi's informal meeting with Putin in Moscow in July. Referring to his last meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Putin said, I remember our meeting in July when we had a good discussion on many issues and after that we also talked on the phone several times. I am grateful to you for accepting my invitation to visit Kazan.

Peaceful resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict:
During the Prime Minister's meeting, Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's stand on war. He told Putin that the Russia-Ukraine conflict should be resolved peacefully and for this India is ready to provide all possible assistance. We are in constant touch on the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. We believe that problems should be solved peacefully. We fully support peace and stability. India always strives to give priority to humanity and stands ready to provide all possible assistance for the resolution of the Yurken conflict.
