Organizing blood donation is important for society and nation: Prof Moses | News India

Prayagraj, 20 September (HS). A blood donation camp was organized in the special camp of five units of National Service Scheme, Ewing Christian College with the help of Helpers Team and Euphoric Society. Principal Professor Arun S. Moses said that blood donation is a great donation and every youth should come forward for this. Such events are important for the society and the nation.

The inauguration was done by the Principal of the college Professor Arun S. Moses and OCTA President and Head of the Department of Economics Professor Umesh Pratap Singh. More than 150 students registered themselves for blood donation in the blood donation camp. Most of them were girls. Most of the girls could not donate blood due to low hemoglobin or health reasons. The blood donors donated a total of 45 units of blood. Which included one teacher, 22 boys and 22 girls. Assistant Professor Dr. Dhirendra Singh of the Ancient History Department donated blood for the 5th time. All the students who donated blood were honored with certificates and mementos.

Addressing the students on this occasion, Prof. Umesh Pratap Singh said that by donating one unit of blood, you save the lives of three people. Blood donation by teachers and students removes the misconceptions about blood donation in the society and people are inspired to donate blood. Prof. Umesh Pratap Singh said that two teams of Allahabad Medical Association and Swaroop Rani Medical College had come to the camp. The blood collected in the blood donation camp will be made available to thalassemia and cancer patients as well as general patients. A health camp was also organized by Allahabad Medical Association. More than 200 students benefited from it and got information about their blood group and hemoglobin level.

On this occasion, Prof Justin Masih of the college, NSS program officer Dr Prem Prakash Singh, Dr Aruney Mishra, Lieutenant Prof Ajin Ray and other teachers and students including NCC cadets were present. NSS program officer Dr Suraj Gunwant thanked Devesh Jaiswal, Anish Pandey of Euphoric Society and Ajit Singh of Helpers Team and the entire team of Allahabad Medical Association and Swaroop Rani Hospital for their cooperation in the camp.
