Organizers are worried about crowd management in Bagwal fair to be held from 16 to 26 August

Champawat, 05 July (HS). Mohan Singh Bisht, President of the Bagwal Mela Committee to be held from 16 to 26 August, said that the Hathras incident has increased the responsibilities of the people of Char Khaam and Saat Thok apart from the temple committee.

He said that the Hathras incident has opened the eyes and ears of the organizers of the Bagwal fair of Devidhura, famous for stone war. This incident has drawn a line of worry on the foreheads of the people of four Khams and seven Thoks. However, the people of all the four Khams will maintain discipline among the Bagwali warriors in the historic Bagwal and apart from following the dress code 100%, the Bagwal players of each Kham will also be issued identity cards on behalf of the temple committee by the head of the Khams.

The organizers believe that through social media, print media and electronic media etc., people from across the seven seas have become curious to see the stone war (Bagwal) played in the nuclear age. The crowd that gathers here on the day of Bagwal is becoming a witness to the fact that now the interest of people from the country and abroad to come here is increasing.

It is noteworthy that District Magistrate Navneet Pandey will finalize the arrangements for the fair by holding a meeting in the presence of district level officials on July 8.
