Jammu, 9 December (Hindustan Reporter). In a proactive effort to protect the residents of remote areas from the harsh winter weather, the Indian Army conducted a lecture on prevention of winter season diseases in Chhatral village of Poonch. The initiative saw an impressive presence of 365 participants including 358 students and 7 teachers which aimed to educate the community about cold-related health risks and preventive measures.
The session covered a wide range of topics including common winter illnesses caused by cold climates, their risk factors and potential impacts. The participants were given guidance about the importance of recognizing early symptoms of such diseases and seeking timely medical attention. Special emphasis was placed on boosting immunity, maintaining hygiene, staying warm and dry, and using vaccination to prevent seasonal diseases.
The local people heartily appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army in reaching out to remote areas with limited civil health infrastructure. One of the attendees said this initiative is not just about raising awareness; It is about building trust and ensuring the well-being of our youth.
