Bhagalpur, March 22 (HS). On the occasion of World Water Day cum Bihar Day, a discussion on climate change and water crisis was organized by Paridhi on Friday.

This program of Paridhi was organized at Kasimpur Panchayat Bhawan of Goradih block. The program was presided over by Chief Sunil Sharma, while the special guests were Sarpanch Rambadan Thakur and Goradih ASI Bhanu Pratap Singh. Conducted by Jai Narayan, while giving the keynote address, Paridhi Director Uday said that the water crisis has only deepened due to climate change. The entire living world is in crisis.

Global warming is continuously increasing due to carbon emissions. Due to change in weather there is irregular rainfall. As a result, the aquifer of the rivers is not recharged, which is the main reason for the drying up of small rivers. Small rivers create big rivers. Rivers supply 60 percent of the water. There is only 3 percent drinking water in the world.

Ground water is our capital and exploitation of rain water and ground water is very dangerous. The objective of Har Ghar Nal Yojana is right but the method is not right. The government should have supplied water from the reservoir instead of deep boring under the tap water scheme for every house. Local people said that water crisis and climate change are easy to understand. Today the well and water pipe failed. Like before, there is no rain in Hathiya and Kaniya Nakshatra. Suddenly it rains so much that even a big city starts floating in water. We are trapped in the illusion of development. This development endangers nature and gives pleasure to corporates. Ramcharitra Yadav, Sadanand Mandal, Kaushalya Devi, Pooja Kumari, Sangeeta Kumari, Arvind Kumar, Rupa Kumari, Abhishek Kumar and Reema Kumari etc. participated in the program. A large number of youth and women associated with TDH Teaching Training Center participated in the discussion. Vote of thanks was given by TDH Coordinator Manjeet.
