New Delhi, May 17 (Hindustan Reporter) In view of the problems being faced by the students of Manipur in the UPSC examination, the Supreme Court ordered to provide transport facilities to the students from Churachandpur to Dimapur. A bench headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud gave this order.
The Supreme Court ordered to pay Rs 5,000 to every candidate going outside the state and Rs 3,000 to every candidate appearing for the exam within the state. The court said that a candidate from a riot-hit area will be given Rs 5,000 for not getting public transport service. In fact, a petition was filed in the Supreme Court demanding that they be given state bus fare or second class train fare and an appeal was also made to give them money for their accommodation and food.
