Order not to bring flights before scheduled time at Mumbai Airport

Mumbai – Flights arriving before the scheduled time at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport have been directed to land at their scheduled time. Out of 1000 flights arriving at Mumbai airport every day, around 100 flights arrive early. Some flights arriving here early in the process of landing have to delay other flights and disrupt their schedules.

The Civil Aviation Ministry has recently issued instructions to Mumbai Airport that no aircraft should arrive at Mumbai Airport before the scheduled flight time or too late.

A few days ago, many flights had to circle the sky for half an hour or more without getting the green signal to land at Mumbai airport due to various reasons. After this, the Civil Aviation Ministry ordered Mumbai Airport to reduce the number of flights scheduled there.

The time allotted for an aircraft to take off or land is called an airport slot. After Mumbai Airport reduced these slots, various airlines had to cancel many flights. However, on the question of some flights arriving early, the Civil Aviation Ministry has urged Mumbai airports to ensure that no flight lands early.

Mumbai airport has been directed to put in place a system to work with airlines and Air Traffic Control (ATC) to ensure that flights do not arrive early or late.

It is noteworthy that following the instructions of the Civil Aviation Ministry, the punctuality of flights at Mumbai Airport has improved, but at the same time the number of flights has decreased and the airfares have also increased.
