Kaushambi, July 18 (HS). A case of arbitrariness has come to light in the health office. The order for training of ASHAs was issued even before the investigation in the ASHA selection process was completed. On the complaint of the head of a village in the selection of ASHA Bahus, the DM has handed over the investigation to the CDO. It is alleged that MOIC, BPM, DCPM made the selection by taking money by bypassing the standards. Before the completion of the investigation process, the CMO issued a letter for training of ASHAs after being transferred to another district. The DM has taken cognizance of the matter and summoned the related file.
In Chail community health center area, ASHA Bahus were selected on the basis of government order of March 2014. In the pending recruitment process, CHC in-charge, Block Program Manager, DCPM of the health department arbitrarily gave the benefit of the post to their candidate by ignoring the standards in the selection of ASHA in Chalouli village. Regarding which, Pradhan Maidan Singh of the village raised questions and submitted an application to the then District Magistrate Sujit Kumar and demanded action.
Taking the selection process done at the block level of the district under investigation, the then DM Sujit Kumar issued an order to CDO Dr. Ravi Kishore Trivedi to investigate. During the investigation proceedings, the then DM was transferred. After which the investigation process went into cold storage. In a letter issued from the CDO office to the CMO, documents related to the selection process were summoned. But former CMO Dr. Sushendra Kumar kept the investigation pending by making excuses in cooperating with the investigation process. Meanwhile, the government transferred CMO Dr. Sushendra Kumar as a consultant in Ghaziabad district. Additional CMO of Deoria Dr. Sanjay Kumar has been appointed as the new CMO.
It is alleged that before leaving the charge, the former CMO issued an order to give eight days training to the selected Asha workers, bypassing the investigation in the controversial Asha selection process. The letter of the CMO's order has gone viral on social media. According to District Magistrate Madhusudan Hulgi, he does not have detailed information about what happened in the Asha selection in the Health Department. Complaints related to the matter have been received through some people. The entire file has been summoned in this regard. Something can be said clearly only after observation.
