Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya, while addressing a public meeting in Ambedkar Nagar district today, made a scathing attack on the opposition parties. He said that the priority of the previous governments was to develop only one family, one area and one particular group, whereas the present BJP government is working on the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

Main points of the address:

  • Attack on opposition: The Deputy Chief Minister said that for the opposition, development meant only ‘loot’. Those who used to do politics of illegal occupation of lands can never bring about real development of the state.
  • New definition of PDA: Taking a dig at Samajwadi Party’s slogan of ‘PDA’, Shri Maurya said this “Family Development Agency” relaxed me. He said that his aim is not to serve the public but to enrich his family.
  • Control on corruption: Referring to MNREGA, he said that there was huge loot in this scheme, which was run in the name of Gandhiji, during the previous governments. Ever since our government has closed these avenues of corruption, opposition leaders are feeling pain.
  • Rule of law: The Deputy Chief Minister clarified that the government’s “zero tolerance” policy against land mafia and anarchists will continue.

Shri Maurya said that the people of the state are no longer confused in the name of development and have clearly understood the difference between familyism versus nationalism.
