Lucknow, 26 June (HS). People protested against the employees of Municipal Corporation and Public Works Department who went to remove encroachment on the land of Public Works Department (PWD) in Talkatora. People got angry on seeing the bulldozer on the spot. They protested in front of the team which had come to remove the encroachment.
Under the leadership of Municipal Corporation Zone 2 officer Divyanshu, the employees made the first attempt to remove encroachment in Talkatora. After the protest, the officers gave the people three days to remove the encroachment and illegal construction themselves. On this, the people started protesting and the Municipal Corporation team had to leave from there.
Municipal corporation employees went to the spot without police force. Ajay Mishra, in-charge inspector of Talkatora police station, said that no information was provided regarding encroachment removal. He clearly denied having any information. However, he accepted that policemen were sent on receiving information about people's protest.
On the other hand, the people who have encroached on the land of PWD said that if the Municipal Corporation wants, it can charge them an annual fee. If there is a bulldozer action, they too will not sit quiet. There will be direct opposition to such an action. The bulldozer will not be able to run.
