News India Live, Digital Desk: The Indian Army issued an explanation on Tuesday, saying that no air defense guns or other defense resources were deployed in the Golden Temple complex during Operation Sindoor. Army issued a statement saying“Some media reports are being broadcast in connection with the deployment of A.D. (air defense) cannons in the Golden Temple. It is clarified that no AD cannon or any other AD resources were deployed in the premises of Shri Darbar Sahib Amritsar (Gold Temple).”
SGPC also rejected the report
Earlier, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC) also dismissed such reports, saying that the Indian Army has not been given any such permission for the deployment of air defense guns. Giving further information, SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the administration had recently approached him to shut down the lights during the blackout after the tension between India and Pakistan. He said that the temple committee fully cooperated with the administration.
Dhami further said that no Indian Army officer has been contacted in the case of air defense guns in the Golden Temple. Apart from him, Giani Raghbir Singh, the head gland of Harmander Sahib, also clarified that no communication has been made by the army in this matter.
