New Delhi, 27 September (Hindustan Reporter). Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said on Friday that it is clearly written in the MCD law that only the Mayor has the right to call a meeting of the House. Apart from the Mayor, no one else has the right to call a meeting of the House. LG or Commissioner cannot call the meeting of MCD House. Only the Mayor can call a meeting of the House and the Mayor will also preside over the meeting.

Kejriwal said that ignoring the rules, the LG called the MCD House and nominated an IAS officer to preside over it. Like this, tomorrow it will be said that the Home Secretary will preside over the meeting of the Lok Sabha. We live in a democracy. Apart from this, it is written in the law that whenever the House is convened, it will be given 72 hours. If a councilor has gone out or is not available, he needs some time to reach on time. There is a flaw in their intentions. For this reason, they are engaged in conducting elections by any means.

Arvind Kejriwal said that it has been learned that the Mayor has written a letter to the MCD Commissioner. He has declared the Standing Committee elections to be held on Friday at 1 pm as illegal and unconstitutional. Also, the Commissioner has been ordered that this election will not be conducted today.
