According to a report by a hiring platform, there is a huge gap between education and employment in India. According to the annual Unstop Talent Report 2024, only seven per cent of higher education institutions can secure 100 per cent campus placements for their students. The report, based on a survey of over 11,000 students, colleges, recruiters, revealed that more than 50 percent of students do not expect to get a job in their chosen field. However, 75 percent of HR professionals surveyed said hiring is stable or increasing. While 19 percent of HR professionals advised against hiring, 11 percent said there was a pause in hiring for some time and the remaining eight percent had no positions available. 88 percent of HR professionals emphasize skill-based hiring. 19 percent of the country's students believe that their college curriculum is sufficient to prepare them for employment. However, 66 percent of recruiters and 42 percent of university participants disagree.
