Only heifer breeding technology lab started in East Champaran

East Champaran, 18th May (H.I.S.). A high technology laboratory for producing only heifers has been completed in the premises of Pipra Kothi Agricultural Science Center of the district. From next month, the work of producing only heifers will be started in the laboratory by implanting embryos in cows through IVF method. This fertilization method will result in an abnormal increase in the quantity and quality of milk.

Dr. Pramod Kumar, an expert in this technique, said that after fertilization of the cow's egg in the laboratory, it will be known within seven days whether the embryo is male or female. A scanning machine has been installed in the laboratory for its identification. After identification, it will be implanted in the uterus of cows.

He told that in-vitro fertilization (IVF) is a biotechnology technique. Which is widely done in animals like humans. Many benefits of IVF in livestock have come to light. With this technique, along with increase in milk production of animals, their immunity is also being increased.

Dr. Pramod Kumar told that this technique is also called multiple ovulation and embryo transfer technique. By using this technology, one cow can produce more than one calf in a year.
