New Delhi: BJP has strongly reacted to the statement of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), in which it had said that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will run the Delhi government from jail. BJP general secretary Dushyant Kumar said, “Arvind Kejriwal is a gang leader and gangs run from jail.”

It is noteworthy that AAP leader Atishi had said on Sunday that Arvind Kejriwal will run the government from jail.

BJP General Secretary Dushyant Kumar said that it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister is inside the jail and because of his stubbornness wants to run the government from there. This has not happened till date, it is an insult to democracy. All the evidence is against her and yet she is so stubborn that she has to face these consequences. Arvind Kejriwal is a gang leader, he runs a gang of thieves from jail itself.

Talking to the media, AAP leader Atishi had said that we have always said that Arvind Kejriwal will run the government from jail. He will remain the Chief Minister of Delhi. We have filed a case in the Supreme Court.

What do legal experts say?

Legal experts believe that Arvind Kejriwal may face difficulties in performing his duties from jail. However, the law does not prevent anyone in prison from leading the government.

Constitutional expert PDT Acharya said Kejriwal will face various restrictions as a prisoner inside Tihar jail. Kejriwal's arrest will not bring any change in the post of Chief Minister. If the prison manual allows such things, so be it; Otherwise, he will have to take permission from the court and then the court will have to issue special instructions to the jail administration.

Chief Minister On ED remand till March 28

ED arrested Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. After this, on Friday he was produced in Rose Avenue Court and 10 days' remand was sought for questioning, but the court gave 6 days' remand. Now CM Kejriwal will remain in ED remand till March 28. In the hearing, Additional Solicitor General appeared on behalf of ED while senior lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared on behalf of Kejriwal.

The court directed Kejriwal to appear again on March 28 at 2 pm and said that the entire interrogation process will be recorded on camera.
