Online application process and required documents for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 (PMAY 2.0). Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to economically weaker section (EWS) and middle class (MIG) families in urban areas to build houses.

Highlights of PMAY 2.0

  1. Launch date:
    • The Union Cabinet had approved PMAY 2.0 on 9 August 2024.
  2. Target:
    • Under this scheme, 1 crore new houses will be built.
  3. Support per unit:
    • Financial assistance of Rs 2.30 lakh will be provided by the government for each house.
  4. Progress so far:
    • In the first phase, 1.18 crore houses were sanctioned in urban areas.
    • So far, construction of 85.5 lakh houses has been completed and handed over to the beneficiaries.
  5. Major Categories:
    • The scheme will be implemented in the following categories:
      1. Beneficiary Based Construction (BLC)
      2. Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP)
      3. Affordable Rental Housing (ARH)
      4. Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS)

Documents required for PMAY 2.0

Keep the following documents ready before applying online:

  1. Aadhar card:
    • Aadhaar details of the applicant and family members.
  2. Bank Account:
    • Active bank account of the applicant.
    • Bank account should be linked to Aadhaar.
  3. Income Certificate:
    • Certificate of annual income.
  4. Caste Certificate:
    • Caste certificate, if applicable.
  5. Land Documents:
    • If you want assistance for construction on your land, documents related to the land.
