One year has passed since the death of grandfather and grandson but compensation has not been received yet

Jaisalmer, May 24 (HS). The family of Ramdevra resident Kana Ram and his grandson Vikram who died in hailstorm and storm on May 28 last year in Ramdevra of the district has not received any compensation till now. The victim's family says that after the death of grandfather and grandson, they have made dozens of rounds of administrative offices. But still no one listened to us.

We had to travel from Ramdevra to Pokhran, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur and Jaipur. After the death of grandfather and grandson, the police administration had said that the government will give compensation in case of death due to natural disaster, storm or lightning. But now a full year is about to pass, we have not received any compensation till now.

Kanaram's wife Bhanwari Devi said that no one is listening to us. Neither the Gram Panchayat nor the government is listening to us. My children do not know anything. At least they could have told us the way. If our family members left, even if we did not get anything, it would have been fine. We went to Jaipur twice. We did not even know the way to Pokaran. Even after that our case was not heard, so what was the meaning of that thing for us. Why did they ruin my family with these paperwork? Sometimes they said go to Jaisalmer, sometimes they said go to Pokaran, we did not have money even for food or rent. My appeal was rejected thrice. I do not even know the reason for rejecting it.

There was an accident, two people from my house died. Even after this, they are not listening to me. If I had nothing to pay, then I would not have to waste money in making these documents later. I do not have even ten rupees in my house. But sometimes bring these documents, sometimes bring these photo copies. Taking loans from here and there, we went to government offices, thinking that someday the government will listen. It is going to be a year now, running around in this circle. Now if there is no hearing, then I will take these papers and burn them in the Panchayat.

The matter is still under process- Patwari

Raodevra Patwari Jethu Singh said that grandfather and grandson died due to heavy rain and hailstorm in Ramdevra last year in May. In this, 50 thousand rupees were given to the deceased by the administration. Also, the victim's family had applied for compensation under the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Accident Insurance Scheme. At that time, the deceased was getting a compensation of 5 lakh rupees under the Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Accident Insurance Scheme. The victim's family can get the benefit of only one scheme from the government. Their Chief Minister Chiranjeevi Accident Insurance Scheme has not been settled yet. Therefore, the victim's family has not been able to get compensation till now. The matter is still in process.

It is noteworthy that on 28th May, due to the sudden heavy rain and hailstorm in Ramdevra, a grandfather and his grandson who were grazing goats near Ramdevra died a painful death. Kanaram (55) son of Bhakharram, resident of Bhil Basti of Ramdevra and his grandson Vikram (12) son of Devaram had gone to Mawa village to graze goats on 28th May. Both died in the hailstorm that occurred around 1 pm. When the family members started searching for them after the hailstorm, their bodies were found lying in a deserted area at around 12 o'clock late at night. Both died as there was no safe place nearby. During this time 9 goats also died along with them.
