Palamu, September 4 (HS). Due to the lack of proper traffic system in Daltonganj urban area, the residents have to face the problem of traffic jams every day. A meeting was held in the Municipal Corporation Hall on Wednesday under the chairmanship of the Municipal Commissioner regarding this.
In the meeting, it was unanimously decided that the Redma Chowk via Chhahmuhaan will be one way and the traffic system will be strong. This means that commercial vehicles which pass through this route once will have to take another route. This arrangement will be implemented from Thursday. Heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter the city during the no-entry period. Its time is fixed from 9 am to 9 pm. The contractors have to collect tax from auto drivers and all vehicles of the transport sector in the name of municipal tax only once in 24 hours. Volunteers collecting tax will not abuse or beat any transport driver and will not be in a drunken state at the work place. If caught in a drunken state, a fine of Rs 10,000 will be imposed and legal punishment will also be imposed.
The Nagar Nigam will sign an MoU with the Federation for the maintenance and cleanliness of the auto stand. For autos and small vehicles coming from rural areas, a stand will be arranged four kilometers outside the city. In strengthening the traffic system, Jharkhand Transport Mazdoor Union and Jharkhand State Auto Chalak Mahasangh should definitely work hand in hand with the district administration and the concerned administration, so that the best facilities and strong traffic can be provided to the city dwellers, students, workers working in offices, ambulances providing emergency services, school buses, patients etc.
